Give it a few days ;   the Obama glamour-clamour will have died away. The bands have  stopped  playing, refuse-collectors are still busy and all the crowds are arriving back home to find their own predicament unchanged and if anything worse than when they left.  In their inmost thoughts it is certain that most sensible Americans  -and fortunately some still exist -  realise that a virtual non-entity with a dubious background has become their President simply because  of the colour of his skin.

They also know that such credibility as he possesses comes from his white genes, not the black ones; and that his office will be wholly dependent on the white variety surrounding it..

A recent newspaper article predicted that this country would probably have a black or Asian Prime Minister before the end of this century.  And  leading spokesmen of all three major parties have said they looked forward to that day.  But as I pointed out in a letter likely to remain unpublished, such a person wouldn’t be Prime Minister of Britain because that country would no longer exist.  Take a good look at what has happened to America in recent decades, with its many millions of recent immigrants from Asia and Mexico  -  90 per cent of them paying little or no taxes and hooked on the welfare system -  and the Obama phenomenon is at once explained.  He’s the lollipop man from the ‘Chitty-chitty Bang-bang’ story.
