MUSLIMS IN THE RANKS? By Harry Mullin I used to be in the regular army and every now and then we had Padre’s Hour, or a church gathering which was upon orders and compulsory to attend. In the Royal Engineers at Chatham we had the R.E. Orchestra who played violins, flutes etc. and it was a pleasure to hear the fine instrumentalists playing. However, I have to admit that I did not have a great deal of respect for the Padres I met as most of them did not really seem to believe the message they proclaimed. Now the politically correct, multiculturalists have introduced non-Christian Padres like Imams for Muslims, a Guru for Buddhists, a Hindu Priest and Priestess for Sikhs. We are told that there are one-and-a-half million Muslims in Britain, but this is obviously not correct, the actual figure is much higher. But if there were one-and-a-half million Muslims, the number of Muslims in the armed forces should be proportionately 5,000. Indeed, there are only 305. Does this not suggest that Muslims do not identify with Britain? It seems that they only care about getting a British passport. One wonders how many ‘British’ Muslims are in the ranks of Al Qaeda of the Taliban, mmh! When will our government realise that their politically correct ideas have failed? 25.10.06 |
